KIKO – Milano
This project brought us back into the world of beauty,
another field where design speaks the language of self-expression.
Here, colour, reflection, and texture form an architectural palette that builds identity through interaction – a space that evolves with the people who move through it and the shifting ways we define beauty today.
Brief
KIKO asked us to design a flagship that embodies its vision – inclusive, expressive, and unafraid to evolve. We approached the project as an exploration of transformation and individuality: a space that blurs boundaries and takes visitors on a playful journey of self-discovery.
The Experience
More than a store, it’s a celebration of metamorphosis – a dialogue between reflection and identity. Through a sequence of suspended frames and shifting surfaces, anyone entering can recognise themselves and, at the same time, see themselves in a new light. A shared experience and a meeting point for the KIKO community, where beauty is fluid, inclusive, and constantly shifting.
Architecture and Design
Step inside and you feel a shift. Above and around, a sculptural ceiling wraps into the walls and displays, blending architecture and technology into a single iconic gesture. Reflections slide across mirrored and dichroic surfaces, celebrating imperfection as identity, while curved lilac portals lined with LEDs set a visual tempo that moves with the visitor.
Translucent elements, colour-blocking, and ceppo di Gré stone anchor the space, celebrating Kiko’s roots in Italy’s capital of style.
Beauty Rooms and Beauty Stations – visible yet discreet capsules enclosed in textured glass – frame the makeup ritual as both a private gesture and a powerful form of self-expression.
