ALIS – Flagship Store, A comeback with roots.
ALIS is more than a brand—it’s a part of Copenhagen’s street history. When we were invited to design the new flagship store, less than two kilometers from where it all started in Christiania, the challenge was clear: don’t replicate the past. Reconnect with it.
We approached the project like a full-circle moment. Growing up inside the same street culture that defined ALIS—skating, punk shows, underground energy—we understood that this space couldn’t be about nostalgia. It had to move forward with the same raw, grounded energy that shaped the original movement, translating it for a new generation.
Brief
Rebuild ALIS’ physical presence in Copenhagen as a true cultural hub.
Reflect the brand’s skate/street heritage without falling into imitation.
Create a functional, flexible store that could host product, people, and events.
Design with clarity, confidence, and a clear material voice.
Architecture & Design
The interior blends clean architectural moves with unfiltered street energy. Green—bold, grounded, symbolic—is used as a central accent, tying the space to movement and the outdoors. Furniture doubles as urban sculpture: industrial elements are reimagined as display systems, installations, and zones for gathering.
Mirrored walls reflect more than just the product—they reflect presence. Modular pieces allow for rearrangement, for skate events, creative workshops, or community meetups. Materials are left honest. Edges are visible. Nothing overdesigned. Everything intentional.
The EXperience
More than a store, this is a platform—a base for ALIS 2.0 to move from. Signature apparel and exclusive in-store collections are layered into the space with restraint, letting the design hold the atmosphere without overpowering it. People don’t just browse here—they connect. It’s a place where street culture, creative energy, and global recognition intersect—anchored in Copenhagen, but never confined to it.
